I hold a PhD in the bioremediation of organic wastes at the University of Sevilla (Spain). I have additional Post Doc in Italy (CNR) and UK (Wye College). I am holding a researcher position in the IRNAS (CSIC). My research interests are focused on bioremediation of trace elements contaminated soils using assisted natural remediation techniques and on biochemical indicators of soil restoration. I have been founded by the Spanish Government and European Union for several research projects related with the reclamation of the contaminated areas. I have more than 35 published papers in peer reviewed journals in the past years and another 40 in international conferences. At the moment I am enjoying a sabbatical at Melbourne University working in the role of mycorrhizas and biosolid in reclamation of rich arsenic tailings.
