The fourth year Honours program (100 points) or new Masters program (200 points) offer a number of benefits. The difference in the course depends on the students background and goals, the Masters program allowing for greater training in coursework at graduate level. Both offer students:

1.The BSc Honours Degree
What is Honours?
Honours in Botany is a one-year program designed to introduce undergraduate students to the techniques and principles of original research in plant science.
2. The New Master of Science (MSc)
The MSc program is a new 200 point course commencing in 2009. The MSc offers graduates a new pathway into a career – either employment or into further research in the PhD. Botany Masters students engage in a significant research project and discipline-specific and workplace-focused coursework. The MSc in the School of Botany offers students a highly flexible course that can be planned around your interests, background and goals as well as the research areas within the School.
