Research Interests

My research interests are broad, encompassing ecological risk assessment, quantitative conservation biology, and decision theory. In my PhD, I evaluated the performance of various methods used for estimating the risk of extinction. During my post doc I developed risk assessment guidelines for assessing the impact of wind farm developments on threatened bird species. Currently I am developing decision support models for the management of weed incursions within a decision theory framework. Generally I am interested in using formal decision-making tools, in conjunction with population models, for allocating resources in an optimal way to maximise the benefits of management actions and to aid in eliminating arbitrary decisions.
